It was the afternoon and Chris wanted to workout the most bad tempered filly they had in their barn. Getting her out was a miracle for she loved to show off her true nature on the track. The jockey hopped onto her back trying to keep her calm. "It's okay Katerina easy girl we are on our way." Chris said talking to the filly. He guided the filly to the gate where a few other horses appeared to be there as well. Grabbing some of her hair on her neck wrapping it with the reins he took ready when the bell rang and the Maximum Sabino filly bolted onto the track.
She did need some work to be done especially her attitude but, changing a horse's attitude could be slightly difficult. The filly pounded her hooves to the ground as she ran her heart out. She was a long distance runner and she preferred 9-12 furlongs for good reason. She expanded her stride and pace matching the others on the track like she was copying their every move and she kept this up all the way through near the end of the back stretch. The last turn she took up the pace and with an opening Chris egged her to go faster and the filly did just that.
Katerina paced her way towards the front and with the final stretch she gave it all she had galloping much faster then before coming eye to eye with another until her nose was passed the others. Crossing the finish line Chris aided the filly to slow down and when she came to a stop she moved her head up and down and pounded her front right hoof. "Come on now that was a good run. Stop that will you." Chris said getting off of her back rubbing her neck gently before placing a kiss on the filly's cheek.
He guided her back to the stables holding the reins in his right hand pulling her to follow him. The white filly was granted and followed with no problem. Chris only waved at the others a goodbye and would wait for the race to come. She did not injure herself but, that nasty fit attitude was all Chris was worried about come race day.
